We currently administer over 85 Taft-Hartley and Public Trust Funds which cover benefits for Health and Welfare, Disability and Time Loss, Dental, Vision, Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Vacation, Apprenticeship, and Legal Services. Our goal is to create a state of the art, fully integrated benefit management platform that will meet the needs of our clients.


    We are looking for an experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to support our team in Mercer Island, WA. This person will manage tasks, projects, and initiatives that are HR related including; leading and managing employee relations, employee development, HR operations, payroll support, audits and compliance activities, talent management and organizational development functions in a multi-state environment. We are looking for someone who will demonstrate a professional demeanor, has an excellent attention to detail, and who has the proven ability to handle a variety of tasks efficiently and accurately.



    • Streamline, implement and manage effective recruiting processes and activities. Work with employment agencies to hire and retain talent and maintain vendor accounts
    • Act as backup to Payroll and work to ensure proper tracking of paid time off, leaves and benefits.
    • Administer, process, and assure accuracy of bi-weekly payroll as need
    • Assure accurate and timely processing of all transactions supporting employee benefit plans: medical, dental and 401(k), and Section 125, etc
    • Administer operational aspects of HR, including leaves of absence, FMLA and EEOC reporting, terminations, COBRA, worker’s compensation, etc
    • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs
    • Carry out administrative work involving the human resources functions and maintain related records
    • Work with the benefits broker to administer employee benefits programs
    • Distributes all necessary and required material for the benefits plan to employees, including maintaining current updated forms and benefit packets
    • Support processing of workers’ compensation and unemployment systems
    • Manage third party human resource, compliance and other support functions
    • Maintains Personnel Files and records including employee, confidential, and benefit files
    • Researches, prepares reports, and gathers HR and other data as needed by management
    • Respond to various Collective Bargaining Agreement obligations as assigned
    • Foster and maintain honest, positive, and productive working relationships with Employees, Managers, and Bargaining Unit Representatives
    • Maintain compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements, employee handbooks, and administrative policy manuals
    • Other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field; PHR/SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of related human resources experience
    • Prior experience working in a union environment, highly preferred
    • 1 year of experience processing or overseeing payroll, preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to positively and diplomatically persuade and influence change
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including advanced Excel skills
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately
