Emerald City Pet Rescue is a nonprofit organization that exists to rescue abused, neglected and homeless animals.  We are looking for an Administrative Assistant/Veterinary Assistant to support the clinical team at our state of the art medical facility in SODO!

 

We are seeking an easy going, professional, adaptable, reliable, personable individual who is committed to supporting a team that practices progressive, high quality medicine.  We want someone who is passionate about saving animals and who wants to continue to learn and grow.  We have a team of 3 doctors, 3 licensed veterinary technicians (LVT), 5 veterinary assistants, and 1 clinic coordinator.

The administrative assistant/veterinary assistant will be performing a variety of tasks in order to help the clinic operations run smoothly, as well as to assist the clinic coordinator.  Tasks include but are not limited to the following:

  • Communicating with all departments of the organization, the public, and fosters. Communication includes answering phone inquiries, emails, and other communications.  Prior customer service experience is ideal.
  • Medical data entry and database management, including patient records, referral documents, and lab reports. Experience with Avimark and/or Petpoint are ideal.  Previous experience with IDEXX is a plus.
  • Animal handling. The ideal candidate will have previous experience handling animals, primarily dogs and cats.  Experience in restraining for various medical procedures such as physical examination, vaccination, blood collect, and similar procedures, as well as administering medications is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service, with preference given to experience in a veterinary setting and/or rescue setting.
  • Shelter or rescue experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing/available to work on weekends. Both FT and PT opportunities are available.
