General Manager (Sales)

Toyota Lift Northwest is a Pacific Northwest company who offers Toyota Forklifts and a wide array of Material Handling Products for warehousing and distribution customers of all kinds.  We are looking to hire a General Manager who will strategically oversee and manage all aspects of operations in order to ensure maximization of company profits. They will provide leadership, direction, and administration related to sales, operations, or aftermarket products.


Our ideal candidate will be strategically minded, data driven, and detail oriented with demonstrated success as a leader.  



  • Represent all aspects of the Toyota Lift NW, “The Deal” (company guiding principles)
  • Provide regular reports to the President regarding Company activities and performance
  • Manage one or more of the following key areas, in line with the President’s vision and collaboration. Depending on specific qualifications of the candidate, responsibility may focus on Sales, Aftermarket Support or Internal Operations:
  • Direct preparation of directives to company outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented
  • Ensure Company Departments are in compliance with the company’s policies, procedures, and corporate compliance program, as well as with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Coordinate short- and long-range financial development and management of Company Departments
  • Lead Sales and Marketing Activities
  • Develop marketing plans, business plans, sales strategies, and action plans for identified targets of opportunity that clearly define objectives, goals, win strategies, schedules, and action assignments
  • Analyze department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget
  • In collaboration with the President, complete the final review of the operating budget for the Company, including the annual operating and capital budgets; review progress against the operating and capital budgets on a monthly basis and re-project as necessary
  • Initiate and lead new business pre-proposal and proposal efforts
  • Maintain professional and industry affiliations and enhance professional growth and development to keep current in latest issues related to industry
  • Establish and maintain a professional, trained, and motivated staff through effective implementation of performance and career-development programs
  • Drive a strong quality and safety culture
  • Establish and assess employee goals; review employee performance by identifying strengths and weaknesses
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships
  • Must follow the 5S
  • Other duties as requested


  • 5 years of related experience in positions of General Management, Sales and Marketing Management, or Operations Management
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to lead a team and manage people and resources effectively; 5 years of supervisory experience, ideally at the regional level
  • Demonstrated management and financial skills in dealing with all phases of business operations
  • Skilled in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, problem solving, and decision making
  • High level communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, to explain complex concepts and issues, and to use tact and diplomacy in sensitive situations
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in all Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Access
  • A pre-employment background check and drug screen required
  • Ability and willingness to travel between two offices in Oregon and Washington (10%)



  • Experience working in an industrial equipment and parts environment
  • Experience with ERP and CRM applications
